Why did I choose pet photography? Well in the end I think it chose me.
On one hand I studied photography right from high school and have been a professional photographer for years. I’ve been a wedding photographer became a head photographer at a studio. That has given me a lot of skills and experience as a photographer.
On the other hand, I grew up with dogs, I absolutely love them, I know all about the bond and connection you have and make with them. They really can become your best friend, your best furry friend that follows you around and loves you whatever.
I know how important my dogs became to me and so I’ve worked out over the years as my dogs have come and gone how important it is to capture their personality and character.
At this point in my life, I have been able to put the two things together and marry my love of pets with my love for photography. I love the art and craft of photography and I love the subject of my photography now too.
And that become my goal;
To provide the service of capturing those personalities and characters for other people to enjoy forever too.

Why Pasadena, CA?
Why not, it’s such a beautiful pocket within LA, there are great places to take dogs on walks for my location shoots, from pretty parks to the more adventurous hikes, mountain backdrops for some locations. I love the era of some of Pasadena’s architecture, there’s still touches and traces of the Art Deco past in places. I have access to a studio right in the heart of all of this and still get the opportunity to walk around the Old Town Pasadena streets. I capture the personality and character of ‘The Pets of Pasadena’ and long may it continue. I now have a Jack Russell called Grace, she's a tricolour (my favourite type). I picked her up when she was only eight weeks old, now she's a strong willed, fearless 3 year old and she's become the studio mascot.
On a personal note I love travelling I’ve spent years in Europe and Australia and seen quite a bit of the US over the years. If I had to pick a favourite it would be Italy, actually the islands off Italy like Sicily and Ustica and closer to home I'd pick San Francisco. I also love the movies, music, visits back home to Australia and walks along the beach. |
